Obituary

Williard F. (Hoot) Usher of Jobes St.,Elco,died Tuesday,April 4,1978 in Mercy Hospital,Pittsburgh.  He was 62.  Born in Fayette City,April 28,1915,he was the son of the late William and Margaret Ferguson Usher.  He had been a resident of the Elco area for the last 40 years.  He had retired in August 1977 from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.,Allenport plant,where he had worked as a hydraulic tester operator in the No.5 finish.  He was a Protestant by faith,and had been a member of the Golden Agers of Charleroi and the Elco Civic Club.  Mr.Usher is survived by his widow,Aldena Haywood Usher,two sons,William Crawford of Statford,Va.,and Jack W.Usher of Allenport,one daughter,Mrs.Anthony (Margaret) Jesko of Stockdale,one sister,Hazel Usher of Elco,and five grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two sisters,Ruth Eckert,in 1972,and Margaret Kelly,in 1975.  Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,after 7 p.m.Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Friday.  Funeral services will be held from the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m.,with the Rev.Charles H.A.Woods,of the New Hope Parish,officiating.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
