Wilford L.Saxe Sr.of 444 Henry St.;Belle Vernon;died at 11:59 a.m. Wednesday;Feb.29;1984;at Mon Valley Hospital;Inc.;Carroll Twp. He was 76. Born in Donora on April 5;1907;he was a son of the late John and Laurene Fawcett Saxe. Mr.Saxe was a resident of the Belle Vernon community since 1976 and was a member of the First Christian Church of Fayette City. He retired in 1975 as a boiler inspector for the Firemen’s Casulty Insurance Co. Mr.Saxe was a World War II veteran;serving as a lieutenant junior grade in the U.S.Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife;Marjorie Frazier Saxe on April 21;1982;a brother John Ronald Saxe in 1980 and a sister;Doris Wible in 1984. Surviving are two sons;Wilfred L. Saxe Jr. of Wilmington;Del.and John Gordon Saxe of Tampa;Fla.;five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where funeral services will be held Saturday;March 3;at 11 a.m.;with the Rev.Bruce Smith;pastor of the First Christian Church of Fayette City;officiating.
