Obituary

Wilbert M.(Cuckoo) Floyd,72,of Monessen,died Tuesday,Sept.2,1997 in the Veterans Hospital,Aspinwall. He was born April 10,1925,in Monessen,a son of the late Wilbert M.and Lucy (Mohley) Floyd. He attended Monessen High School. He was a disabled veteran,having served in the U.S.Army during World War II. He was baptised at the St.Paul Baptist Church,Donora. Survivors include his wife,Josephine Floyd,12 children,Wilma,Lucy Jean,Jewel,Douglas,Clemantine,Lucas,McKinley,Connie,Robin,Kay,Helene and Wilbert M.(Ricco) Floyd Jr.and Clarence Tillman,five step-children,Curtis Davis and Robert,Patricia,Gloria and Kathy Joyner,one sister,Mary Floyd of Maryland,four brothers,Francis Floyd of Virginia,James and Thomas Floyd,both of Monessen,Robert Floyd of Donora. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by one sister,Melissa Hill. Friends will be received Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.in the Mt.Calvary Baptist Church,Monessen,where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Griffin Mason officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home,Monessen,is in charge of the arrangements.
