Wassil Shimchick,aged 88 years,1016 Henry street, Belle Vernon,died Wednesday, Nov. 7,1956 following a lingering illness. He was a member of the UMWA,Local 2148,and of the Russian Orthodox Fraternity Lodge of Pricedale. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Anastasia Shimchick;four daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Mary) Martin of Clairton,Mrs. Anna Kurtak and Mrs. George (Nell) Skurkay,both of Pleasant Hills,Pittsburgh and Mrs. Hugh (Catherine) Crumlish of Beaver;two sons, Michael of Belle Vernon and John of Fellsburg;a brother, Michael in New Jersey;seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Toner Funeral Home,Broad avenue, Belle Vernon,where visiting hours are from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock from St. John the Divine Russian Orthodox Church in Monessen,with Rev. John Govrusik officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold R.Toner,funeral director.
