Obituary

Warren Rocky Ramsey, 85, of Charleroi, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, in Mon Valley Hospital. Born in Vanderbilt on Nov. 4, 1919, he was a son of the late John and Julia Ramsey. He grew up on Fayette Street Rostraver Township. Mr. Ramsey was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Monessen plant. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the VFW Arden Calvert Post, both in Charleroi, and the Charleroi Belgium Club. Survivors include a brother, Glenn Ramsey of North Charleroi, two sisters, Donna Matson and Jane Gates, both of Belle Vernon, and a special friend, Betty Barton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Matilda Veres Ramsey, a son, James W. Ramsey, a brother, William Ramsey, and a sister, Vera Jones. Visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the LEONARD M. PAVLIC FUNERAL HOMES INC., 235 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Price officiating, followed by interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
