Mr.and Mrs.John Holder;Market street;Belle Vernon;received word Wednesday Nov.8;1944;from the War Department that their son;Pvt.Warren M.Holder;was killed in action in France;October 6;1944. He had previously been reported missing in a telegram received by his parents on Oct.28. Private Holder was the possessor of a Presidential citation for bravery. He was graduated from the Belle Vernon High School and has been overseas since August;1973. Surviving besides his parents are two sisters;Mrs.Margaret Christopher;and Dolores;at home;and two brothers;Sgt.Richard in France;and Jack at home. His body will arrive in Charleroi Wednesday;Sept.8;1948;at 6:45 p.m.and will be taken immediately to the Toner Funeral Home. Services will be held there Friday;September 10;1948;at 2:30 p.m.;in charge of Rev.Herman F.Roney. American Legion Post 659 will have charge of military rites. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold R.Toner is the funeral director.
