Obituary

Warren Carier Oliphant of 132 Kelly Ave., Belle Vernon died Tuesday,June 30,1981 at 8:15 p.m. at home following a lengthy illness.  He was 65. Mr Oliphant was born Aug. 29,1915 in Washington Twp.,a son of the late Christopher and Esther Ashton Oliphant.  He was a member of Fayette City United Presbyterian Church. Mr. Oliphant retired in November of 1976 after completing 40 years of service as an electrical foreman with Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation,Monessen Plant. Survivors include his widow,Grace E. Lutes Oliphant,one son, Timothy W. Oliphant of West Newton,one daughter, Kathleen Oliphant of Fayette City, a half brother,James Ashton of Glenshaw, Pa., a sister,Mrs. Lloyd (Daisy) Leach of Lakeland,Fla.,and four grandchildren,Karen, Scott,Candace and Julianne. Friends will be received in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m..  Services will be held Friday, July 3, in the funeral home at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Fred G. Gnatuk officiating.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
