Obituary

Walter W. Hopkins of Charleroi R.D.2,formerly of Monessen, died Friday, Oct. 1,1976 at 12:35 p.m. in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital.  He was 51. Mr. Hopkins was born March 22,1925 in Monessen and was a substiture teacher in Charleroi Area Schools. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church,Charleroi; F.and A.M.Lodge 615,Charleroi; Royal Arch Chapter 290,Monessen; McKean Commandry,80,Charleroi; Syria Temple,Pittsburgh and Mon Valley Shrine Caravan. Survivors include his wife, June Shrader Hopkins; three sons, Walter and Larry of Charleroi and Bill of Monessen; one daughter,Mrs. Sheldon (Nancy) Shultz of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren; three brothers, Donald of Corning,N.Y., Jack of Chicago, Ill. and Joseph in Fla.  Friends will be received in the Ed Melenyzer Funeral Home,262 Donner Ave.,Monessen from 7 to 9 p.m.Saturday and from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.  Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Frank Bodnar,pastor of First United Methodist Church,Charleroi,officiatig.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Masonic services will be Sunday at 8 p.m.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributons be made to the First United Methodist Church,Charleroi building fund.  The Ed Melenyzer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
