Obituary

Walter R.Colvin Jr.,63,of Belle Vernon R.D.4,died suddenly on Monday,April 28,1975 at 5:30 p.m.in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. Born Jan.29,1912,in Belle Vernon,he was a son of the late Walter and Bertha McEwen Colvin. Until his retirement three years ago,Mr.Colvin was employed by the Otto Milk Co. He was a U.S.Navy veteran of World War II. Mr.Colvin was a former trustee,deacon and elder of the Rehoboth Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon and was formerly superintendent of the church's Sunday school. Surviving are his widow,Frances Wallace Colvin,two sons,Kenton R.of Belle Vernon,and Jan P.of Barberton,Ohio,one sister,Mrs.Richard (Viola) Weightman of Belle Vernon R.D.4,and four grandchildren. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m.on Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.on Wednesday at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m.with the Rev.Allie Clayton,pastor of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon,and the Rev.Charles Colas,pastor of the First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon,officiating. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
