Obituary

Walter ( Kwiatkowski ) Howsky of 214 Perry Ave., Fairhope, Belle Vernon, died Tuesday,Feb.10,1981, at 10:15 p.m. in Jefferson Nursing Center, Pittsburgh, following a lengthy illness. He was 74. Mr. Howsky was born March 8, 1906, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late John and Mary Popkowski Kwiatkowski. He was a member of the Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church, Fayette City. Mr. Howsky also belonged to the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club, the P&A Lodge of Arnold City, and the Belle Vernon Golden Agers. He was a life member of the Washington Twp. Fire Company and was a member of the Mon Valley Retired Steel Workers of Monessen. Mr. Howsky retired in 1968 f rom the Wheeling- Pittsburgh Steel Corporation's oilwell tubing division at the Allenport Plant. In addition to his parents, Mr Howsky was preceded in death by a brother, Edmund. Survivors include his widow, Julia Duda Howsky, two daughters, Mrs. Fritz (Dolores) Frazier and Mrs. Raymond (Loretta) Mullen, both of Belle Vernon, five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, four brothers, Chester and Leonard, both of Michigan and Victor and Anthony, both of Monessen, four sisters, Mrs. Henry (Virginia) Christie and Mrs.. Edward (Catherine) Pasernack, both of Michigan,Mrs Raymond (Harriet) Caldwalder of Monessen and Mrs. Laura Hammerash of Belle Vernon, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home, Fayette City, after 7 p.m.Thursday and from 2 to 4 p m and 7 to 9 p.m.on Friday. Prayer Service will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m.in the funeral home,followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in the Holy Spirit R..C.Church,Fayette City,with the Rev.Fr.Thomas G.Rinn,pastor of the church,as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Venon Cemetery. Church Prayer Services will be held Friday at 8 p.m.in the funeral home.
