Walter H. Reitz,90,824 Henry St., Belle Vernon,died in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital,Friday, Sept. 1,1967 at 12:30 p.m. He was born in Fayette City on Sept. 28,1876, and was a member of the First Methodist Church of Belle Vernon, Junior Order of United American Mechanics of Belle Vernon,and the Helping Hand Bible Class of the Methodist Church. He was a resident of Belle Vernon since 1920 moving there from Kane and was an employee of the American Window Glass Co.,of Belle Vernon as a glass cutter. He retired in 1948 when the Glass Co. closed in Belle Vernon. Survivors include his widow,Olive Hurd Reitz, one son, J. Howard Reitz at home, and he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Isabelle Guerra,who died Aug. 31,1950. One sister, Mrs. Myrtle Doherty of Jeannette,also survives along with three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,after 7 p.m. on Saturday. Funeral serices will be held in the funeral home on Monday,Sept. 4,at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Richard E. Snyder,pastor of the First Methodist Church of Belle Vernon,officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D. Ferguson is the funeral director.
