Walter Bell; 80; of North Belle Vernon; died Wednesday; Jan. 5; 2005; at 7:15 a.m.; at Westmoreland Regional Hospital; Greensburg. Born May 11; 1924; in England; he was a son of the late Robert and Mary Curran Bell. Mr. Bell was a resident of North Belle Vernon for the past six years; having previously resided in Monessen and Elizabeth Township; where he grew up in Roberts Hollow. Mr. Bell was retired from West Penn Power; where he worked as a substation electrician 1st Class for 51 years. He was a World War II veteran; where he served in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was a graduate of the American Television and Electronics Institute; Chicago. Member of the Haymakers Club of Finleyville; an avid historian and enjoyed discussing politics. He is survived by a stepson and daughter-in-law; James Stakias and wife; Diann; of Monessen; stepdaughter and son-in-law; Marlene Perozzi Nicolaus and husband; Lee; of North Belle Vernon; with whom he made his home; six stepgrandchildren; Josie Haertel and husband; Dart; Michael Stakias and wife; Anne; David Perozzi; Dr. Michael Perozzi and wife; Michele; Lisa Scagline and husband; Mark; and Lee Ann Nicolaus; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife; Vincetta Canestrale Bell; on March 29; 1999; and a twin brother; Russell Bell. Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME; Family Owned and Operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon; 724-929-6183. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Lawrence L. Manchas; pastor of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; officiating.
