Walter A. Strychalski Sr.; 82; of Fairhope; Washington Township; died Friday; Jan. 28; 2005; at 4:05 p.m.; at Mon Valley Hospital; Carroll Township. Born Dec. 18; 1922; in Fredericktown; he was a son of the late Andrew and Helen Glasser Strychalski. A resident of Fairhope; Mr. Strychalski was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church; Fayette City; Fairhope Rod & Gun Club; Hungarian Club of Pricedale and the Belle Vernon VFW Post 699. He was a retired coal miner from Con-Sol Mine; Mathies Division. He was a World War II veteran; having served in the U.S. Army; 854th Engineer Battalion. He is survived by his wife; Victoria S. Kaplon Strychalski; to whom he was married 54 years; two daughters and son-in-law; Janet L. and David S. Samek; of Belle Vernon; and Bernice Strychalski; of Monongahela; a son and daughter-in-law; Walter A. Jr. and Patricia Strychalski; of Rostraver Township; five grandchildren; Gary Molnar Jr. and wife; Pam; David M. Samek Jr.; Renee Miklos and husband; Barry; Amy Strychalski and James Strychalski; four great-grandchildren; Dylon Molnar; Alexis Molnar; Marcus Molnar and Anthony Miklos; two brothers and sister-in-law; Stanley Strychalski; of Belle Vernon; and Joseph and Mary Strychalski; of Trafford; three sisters; Mary Belczyk; of Belle Vernon; Ann Glister; of North Versailles; and Nellie Gombo; of Belle Vernon; and a sister-in-law; Agnes Strychalski; of Belle Vernon. He was preceded in death by two brothers; Edward and John Strychalski; and two sisters; Florence Rovney and Mildred Spazak. Visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.; followed by private funeral services at the LEONARD J.
