Walter A.Lucas of 728 Speer St.;Belle Vernon;died Saturday;Sept.14;1985;in the Haven Crest Nursing Home;Carroll township. He was 76. Mr.Lucas was born Jan.31;1909;in Freeport;a son of the late John and Mary Skibo Lucas. He was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon. A former employee of Reick-McJenkin Dairy in Charleroi;he was also a member of the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club. Mr.Lucas retired in 1974 with 25 years of service at the Allied Chemical Corp.;Newell. He was a veteran of World War II;having served with the Army Engineers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister;Martha Barthole;and by a brother;John Lucas. Survivors include his wife;Jean Collinet Lucas;a son;Walter C.Lucas of Hephzibah;Ga.;a daughter;Mrs.Frank (Barbara) Wisener of Belle Vernon;a sister;Mildred Kunselman of Charleroi;and five grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where a prayer service will be held Wednesday;Sept.18;at 9:30 a.m.;followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.Sebastian Church;Belle Vernon.
