Vivian Jones Mills;63; of 539 Chestnut St.Monessen;died Friday;Sept.2;1994;at 7 p.m. in the Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township. She was born Nov.19;1930;a daughter of the late Leon Troope and Rosae Mae Robinson. Mrs. Mills was retired from Mayview State Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Monessen; and attended Monessen Public Schools. Mrs.MIlls was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church;Monessen;where she was a member of the Usher Board;Mt.Calvary Gospel Chorus;was former president and vice president of the chorus;and was a member and former secretary of the Senior Missionary Society. Survivors include two sons;Haywood Jones;Jr.at home;and Derrick Jones of Maryland;a stepson;Thomas Johnson of Ohio;her stepmother;Bernice Robinson of Charleroi;two brothers;Leon and Melvin Troope of New Jersey;two sisters;Rosie and Riva Troope;seven sisters-in-law;Carmen Cintron and Virginia Jones;both of New Jersey;Gloria McDowell of Maryland;Clyda Mills and Dorothy Linton;both of Uniontown;Fannie Reid of Michigan;and Frances Smith of Monessen;six brothrs-in-law;William Jones of New Jersey;James McDowell of Maryland;Melvin Mills and George Linton;both of Uniontown;Robert Mills of Washington;Pa.;and Albert Smith of Monessen;six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Herbert J.Mills on June 9;1994;and a grandson;Kendrick W.Blackman.
