Virginia (Reed) Toth; 84; of Vernon Avenue; Belle Vernon; died Thursday; Dec. 19; 2002; in Monongahela Valley Hospital. A daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Sacco Reed; she was born July 15; 1918; in Belle Vernon. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; she was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. Mrs. Toth owned and operated Virginia Toth’s Beauty Shop in the early 1940’s. She is survived by her husband of 60 years; Joseph C. Toth; and was the loving mother of three children; Darlene K. Kelly and husband Jim; of Cayucos; Calif.; Janice Toth; of Pittsburgh; and Joseph R. Toth and wife Judith Diorio; of Pittsburgh; two sisters; Millie Caputo; of Belle Vernon; and Genevieve Haffner; of Pasadena; Calif.; five grandchildren; Jimmy Kelly and wife Laura; and Jeffrey Kelly; all of the state of California; and Nathan Diorio-Toth; Hannah Diorio-Toth and Luke Diorio-Toth; all of Pittsburgh; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by two sisters; Lena Fowler and Carrie Andreis; and two brothers; James and Arthur Reed. Friends will be received Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC.; (724-929-5300) a Golden Rule Member Firm; 700 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon. A Prayer Service will be conducted in the funeral home Monday; Dec. 23 at 9:30 a.m.; followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Sunday at 3 p.m. led by members of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church Parish. In lieu of flowers; the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Mt. Macrina Manor in Uniontown; or to the charity of one’s choice.
