Virginia Gerhardt; 80; of Canonsburg; died Wednesday; Oct. 9; 2002; in her home. A daughter of the late Eugene and Julia Samonsky Caruso; she was born in Monessen on Feb. 20; 1922. Mrs. Gerhardt was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg. Formerly of Monessen; Mrs. Gerhardt resided in Canonsburg for the past 53 years. Survivors include one sister; Jean Silvestro of Belle Vernon; and one niece; Vicki Cremonese and husband Michael of Mt. Lebanon. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; Paul W. Gerhardt Jr.; in 1997; and her son; Paul W. Bill Gerhardt III; in 2001. There will be no public visitation.
