Virginia Dodd Cooper of 1821 Black Gap Road;Fayetteville;died Wednesday;Aug.21;1985;at 1:45 p.m. in the Chambersburg Hospital. She was 81. Mrs.Cooper was born May 25;1904;in Belle Vernon;a daughter of George L.Dodd who died in 1954 and Sara Etheridge Dodd who died in 1948. A graduate of Wilson College in Chambersburg;she had taught school in Belle Vernon fro several years. From 1932 until 1967 Mrs.Cooper was a professor at Wilson College;retiring as head of the French Department. She is survived by one cousin. There will be no public visitation. Funeral services will be held Friday;Aug.23;1985;at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel at Belle Vernon Cemetery with the Rev.Charles Lalaca;pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon;officiating. Burial will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;is in charge of arrangements.
