Obituary

Violet V. Livingstone, 88, of Columbus, Ind., died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, in Columbus Regional Hospital. She was born May 4, 1918, in Monessen, a daughter of the late Louigi and Maria Meranda DeRose. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and F.O.E. Women's Auxiliary 2399 in Pennsylvania. Mrs. Livingstone also was a past member of the Professional Women's Sorority and a former interior decorator at Check's Furniture Store in Monessen. On July 5, 1938, she married James H. Livingstone, who passed away in 1944. Survivors include one daughter, Iola M. (Bill) Zinn, of Columbus, Ind., three grandchildren, Christina Zinn-Krulewitch, of Indianapolis, Ind., James Zinn, of Greensburg, and Scott Zinn, of Connersville, and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest and Louis DeRose, and one sister, Alvera Bruguglio. Friends will be received at BARKES, WEAVER & GLICK FUNERAL HOME, 1029 Washington St., Columbus, Ind. 47201, 812-372-2515, on Sunday, Jan. 7, from 1 to 2 p.m., at which time a memorial service will be held in the funeral home with the Rev. Clem Davis officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Columbus (Ind.) Regional Hospital Foundation.
