Obituary

Violet Marie Brounce, 81, of Monongahela, died Sunday, April 30, 2006, at her home. She was born Oct. 7, 1924, in Belle Vernon, a daughter of the late Richard Harger and Pearl Kennedy Harger. She was Protestant by faith. Mrs. Brounce was a member of the former Polish Club of Monessen, as well as the Monessen Fireman's Club No. 1, where she had worked as a bar maid. Surviving are four sons, George R. Brounce, of Leavittsburg, Ohio, William R. Brounce and wife Carol, of North Charleroi, Thomas R. Brounce and wife Margie, of Little Hocking, Ohio, and Clifford R. Brounce and wife Joyce, of Carroll Township, one daughter, Mrs. David (Constance M.) Prosser, of Whitensville, Mass., 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, a sister, Betty Swaney, of Michigan, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, George W. Brounce, and seven brothers and sisters. Friends will be received at the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, a Golden Rule Funeral Home, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, May 4 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
