Obituary

Vincent W.Stone,78,of 215 Otto St.,Belle Vernon,died Friday,Jan.1,1993,at 3:50 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born Feb.17,1914,in Belle Vernon,a son of the late Olive Stone. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesue Christ of Latter Day Saints and the Belle Vernon American Legion. He was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area. He retired from the Blooming Mill,Monessen plant,Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company,in 1976. He was a veteran of World War II,serving in the U.S.Army. His wife,Alice Osborne Stone,died in 1978. Survivors include one son,Larry R.Harger of Akron,Ohio,two daughters,Mrs.Donald (Jane) Niemela of Perryopolis,R.D.,and Mrs.August (Ruth Ann) DeSchepper with whom he made his home,one sister,Mary Jupin of Belle Vernon,and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren,nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m.in the funeral home with the Rev.Dr.Thomas St.Clair,pastor of First United Methodist Church,Belle Vernon,officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
