Obituary

Vincent C.Mancuso,67,of 909 Hill St.,Belle Vernon,died Wednesday,July 24,1985,at 10:53 p.m. in Mercy Hospital,Pittsburgh. Born Jan.2,1918,in Pueblo,Colo.,he was a son of the late Samuel and Ursula Silvio Mancuso. In addition to his parents,Mr.Mancuso was preceded in death by a brother,Anthony Mancuso and a sister,Ann Corti. Surviving are his wife,Eleanor Fundy Mancuso,a son,Vincent Mancuso Jr. of Monessen,two daughters,Mrs.Ronald (Sue Ann) Edwards of Belle Vernon and Mrs.Donald (Bonnie) Halinka of Belle Vernon,two brothers,Sylvester Mancuso of Pueblo,Colo.,and Joseph Mancuso of Corning,N.Y.,a sister,Mrs.Mario (Virginia) Alessio of Belle Vernon and four grandchildren,Ronald and Kristen Edwards of Belle Vernon and Julie Anne and Michael Vincent Mancuso of Monessen. Mr.Mancuso was a resident of the Belle Vernon area for the past 58 years. He was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon and Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council 3026. Mr.Mancuso was a veteran of World War II,serving with the U.S.Army and was a member of the American Legion in Fayette City. He held memberships in the Fayette City and Belle Vernon Golden Agers,the Rostraver Township Chapter of AARP,was a board member of the Educational Enrichment for the Elderly Council and was a charter member of the Valley Spa. Mr.Mancuso retired in 1980 from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp's Monessen plant,where he had been employed as an engineer for 40 years. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where prayer services will begin Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at St.Sebastian Church,Belle Vernon. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council 3026 will hold services Friday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
