Vernon J.Cox;38;of 4536 Chadsworth St.;Pittsburgh;formerly of Monessen;died Tuesday;Feb.28;1978;at 3:33 a.m. at his home. Pittsburgh police are investingating the cause of death. He was born in Monessen on April 12;1938. Surviving are his father;John Cox;and his stepmother;Mary Cox;of Monessen;two sons;Vernon John Cox of Monessen and Sean Cox of Pittsburgh;two brothers;Frank Rawlins of Monessen and Robert Rawlins of California State;one sister;Alberta Holmes of Monessen;and four stepsisters;Bettie Love;Patricia Kizzie and Alice Ingram;all three of Monessen;and Johnella Anderson of Detroit;Mich. Friends will be received at the William R.Taylor Funeral Home;Monessen;from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Wayman AME Church;Monessen with the Rev.W.J.Dickey officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
