Verna Sapko Lutes; 71; of 218 Chestnut St.; Stockdale;died Thursday;Dec.23;1976; at 12:10 p.m. in Presbyterian-University Hospital; Pittsburgh. She was born Oct. 14;1905 in Stockdale; a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Bersok Sapko. Mrs. Lutes was a former nurses’ aide at the Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital and was a member of Holy Ghost Greek Catholic Church; Charleroi. Her husband; William J. Lutes Sr.; died in 1958. Surviving are two daughters; Mrs. Harry (Betty) DiBiase of Vineland; N.J. and Mrs. Anthony (Anna Mae) Priglia of Clairton; two sons; William J. Lutes Jr. of Stockdale and Robert A. Lutes of Bentleyville; four brothers;Joseph; Nicholas and George Sapko; all of Stockdale; and Paul Sapko of Passaic;N.J.;six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Friends will be received at the Ed Melenyzer Funeral Home;Inc.;1008 Furlong Ave.;Roscoe;Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  A Prayer service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.at the funeral home followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m.in Holy Ghost Greek Catholic Church;Charleroi;with Rev.Andrew Chura officiating.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Ed Melenyzer Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
