Vance A. Konkol, 83, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 23, 2017 in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late Helen Septak Brazack, he was born in Belle Vernon on May 29, 1934. Vance was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 and a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Belle Vernon. He had been employed as an architectural draftsman for many years, retiring from Ryan Homes in 1989. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Georganne Lutton Konkol, four daughters and sons-in-law; Denice and Leroy Weaver, of Fredericksburg, VA, Lynne and Keith Hildenbrand, of West Newton, Jeanine and Jeff Gillen, of Belle Vernon, and Kelley and Stan Zimcosky, of Smock, ten grandchildren; Jeffrey Weaver, Jennifer Van Dusen, Colin Hildenbrand, Kate Gillen, Adam Gillen, Kelsey Zimcosky, John Paul Zimcosky, Emily Zimcosky, Sophie Zimcosky, and Juliann Zimcosky, four great grandchildren; Thomas Van Dusen, Taylor Weaver, Vance Weaver, and Lilly Weaver, and a great great-granddaughter, Bella Rose Weaver. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sally Nicolaus.
