Valentine (Val) V.Powlowsky;62;of 38 Knox Ave.;Monessen;died Wednesday;Oct.26;1977;at 3:55 p.m.;shortly after arrival at Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. Born Jan.5;1915;in Monessen;he was a son of the late Michael and Bertha Shamitis Powlowsky;and was a lifelong resident of the community. He had been employed at the Page Division;American Chain & Cable Co.;in Monessen;and later at Liggett Spring & Axle Co. in East Monongahela until his retirement in 1975. Mr.Powlowsky was a member of St.Leonard Catholic Church;Volunteer Fire Co.;No.1 and Relief Association;and Ukrainian Club;all of Monessen;and the Past Presidents and Old Timers Association of the Western Pennsylvania Fireman’s Association. Surviving are his widow;Mrs.Dolphine (Dujordan) Powlowsky;two daughters;Mrs.Anthony (Deanne) Bellora of Pittsburgh;Miss Terry Powlowsky;at home;three sons;Kenneth Powlowsky of Canonsburg;Eugene and Richard Powlowsky;both of Fort Lauderdale;Fla.;three grandchildren;one sister;Mrs.Louis (Margaret) Valdiserri of Charleroi;four brothers;Albert and Thomas Powlowsky;both of Monessen;Victor Powlowsky of the state of Florida;and John Powlowsky of Ramona;Calif. Friends are being received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Rhome Funeral Home;Inc.;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen;where a blessing service will take place Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St.Leonard Catholic Church of Monessen with the Rev.Henry P.Diniccco as celebrant. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Rhome funeral directors are in charge of arrangements.
