Tyrone Diggs, 8,of 1033 Schoonmaker Ave.,Monessen,drowned late Thursday afternoon,August 8,1968 in the Monongahela River in Monessen. The drowning occurred just off the banks of the river near the Monessen Page Division of American Chain & Cable Co.,Inc. Tyrone ,a student at the Jefferson Elementary School,was born in Monessen on July 29,1960. Surviving are his parents, Mr.and Mrs. Israel Diggs Sr.;four brothers, Israel Jr.,Nathan,David and Darnell and a sister, Denise,all at home; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Lavinia Diggs of Whitsett and maternal grandmother,Mrs. Geraldine Allen of Monessen. Friends will be received at the Beverly C. Draper Funeral Home,Monessen,after 2 p.m. Aug. 10. Service there Monday,Aug. 12,at 11 a.m. with the Rev. E. Archie,pastor of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Monessen,officiating. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Beverly C. Draper is funeral director.
