Treadford Lucious Harris,81,of Arnold City, departed this life on Saturday,Oct. 6,2001,in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born Sept. 3,1920,in Roxboro,N.C.,a son of the late Lucious and Lizzie A. Harris. He relocated to Arnold City in 1929. He met and married Dorcas in May 1940. He retired after 50 years service as a coal miner. He was a member of the Okay Lodge 697 in Monessen. Survivors include his wife of 61 years,Dorcas Harris;three sons, Darrell and Kenneth Harris,both of Arnold City,and Jeffrey Harris of Newport News,Va.;three daughters,Ruth of Arnold City,Deborah and Cynthia,both of Albany,N.Y.;13 grandchildren;seven great-grandchildren;one brother,Scodell Harris of Manhattan,N.Y.;and a host of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Antioch Baptist Church,Belle Vernon,where funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Clifford Carter officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Beverly C. Draper Funeral Home,Monessen,is in charge of the arrangements.
