Torrance Speers Etheridge,85,of Henry Ford Village,Mich.,died Wednesday,July 1,1998,in Henry Ford Hospital,Detroit, Mich. Born March 17,1913,in Speers,she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Minerva Mitchell Speers. A resident of Michigan since 1944,Mrs. Etheridge was a member of the Church of Our Savior in West Bloomfield, Mich. She was a former member of First Presbyterian Church,Belle Vernon. A graduate of Belle Vernon High School and Goucher College in Towson,Md.,Mrs. Etheridge was very active for many years helping the director of ARC in Oakland County,Mich. In additon to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Etheridge, in 1972;and a brother, Stephen Speers, in 1980. Surviving are one son, Michael Thomas Etheridge of Milford, Mich.;and two sisters, Betty Didrichsen of Sonora, Calif.,and Mrs. Charles (Patsy) Bradley of King of Prussia. A Memorial service will be held Saturday,August 29,1998,at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Belle Vernon Cemetery with the Rev. Thomas Ramsey of First Presbyterian Church,Belle Vernon,officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Ferguson Funeral Home Inc., Belle Vernon.
