Tony Altier;73;of Belle Vernon R.D.2;died at his late home Friday;May 29;1964;at 6:45 a.m. He was a member of the Italian Society of Mutual Aid;American Legion Post 28 and veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1190;all of Monessen. Mr.Altier lived in Monessen until 1942 when he moved to his present address. He was a World War I veteran and a retired welder of the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co.;retiring July 8;1958. He was born in Italy April 7;1891. Surviving are his widow;Eva Rapp Alter;one son;Norman of Belle Vernon;two daughters;Mrs.William (Florence) Callaway of Belle Vernon R.D.2;and Mrs.Perry (Dorothy) Cloherty of Charleroi;ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Edwin Melenyzer Funeral Home;Monessen;during hours of 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.beginning May 30.
