Thomas W. Nega; Sr.; 91; of Rostraver Township passed away Tuesday; December 27; 2011 in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late Zigmund and Mary Frich Nega; he was born in Rostraver Township on March 29; 1920. He resided in Rostraver all of his life. Tom was an extremely hard-working; generous; and gentle man who was dedicated to his family above all. Over the years he operated the Frich Dairy Farm; was self employed owning Nega’s Heating and Plumbing business; and was in the trucking business; retiring from Suwak Trucking Co. He also attended California State College. Tom loved designing and building houses; many of which
are still seen in Rostraver today. At the time of his passing he belonged to; and was a volunteer at St. Vincent DePauls’; AARP; and Fayette City-Belle Vernon Golden agers and was a member of St. Sebastian Church. He also dedicated many years to scouting and was so proud when his son; Tom; Jr.; became an Eagle Scout. He and his wife and family were avid travelers. Journeys with his wife took them around the world many times. They also treated their family to many memories and experiences all over the United States and Canada in their motor home. Survivors include his wonderful wife of over 66 years; Mary K. Hutoff Nega; his darling daughter Joycelyn M. Gazi and husband Edward; daughter-in-law; Rosita Nega of Belle Vernon; his adoring granddaughters; who he loved very much; Allison Barajas and husband Mario of Fort Pierce; FL.; Ashley Gazi and fiancé Scott Clawson;and Katherine Nega; all of Pittsburgh; one beautiful great granddaughter; Karolina Barajas; sisters Honora Varchulik of Rostraver Twp; Georgetta Wiles and husband Charles of Rostraver; brother George Nega and wife Mary; niece Debra Russell of Perryopolis; sisters-in-law Elaine Rullo of Monessen; Delores Bulger and husband Gene of Chesapeake; Va; Noreen Husher andhusband Terry of Centerville; OH; Jean Fleming and husband Bill of Baltimore; Md.; Nancy Rosset of New Jersey; and a great many nieces and nephews. In
addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son beloved Thomas W. Nega; Jr. in 2000 and grandparents; George and Mary Frich. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Roger Statnick as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. On Friday at 3 p.m.; the rosary will be prayed in the funeral home led by members of St. Sebastian Parish.
