Thomas Turnipseed of 681 McKee Ave.;Monessen;died at his home at 6:50 a.m.Tuesday Aug.25;1970;in his sleep. He was a member of Union Baptist Church;Monessen;and Monessen Chapter of Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World (IPBOEW) where he served as a trustee;and of Joseph H.Ford Post 691 American Legion of Monessen. He served in the U.S.Army during World War I. He was retired from the Monessen Page Division;American Chain and Cable Co.;Monessen in 1955. Preceded in death by his wife;Marie;in November of 1969;he is survived by three step-sons;Cornelius Obain;Claude Garry and Robert Garry;all of Monessen;a daughter;Mrs.William (Lillian) Bronson;with whom he made his home;a step-daughter;Mrs.Clyde (Annie) Marshall;Steubenville;Ohio;four brothers;Henry;John;Willis and Jules Turnipseed;all of Baltimore;Md.;a sister;Mrs.Lillian Byrd of Columbis;S.C. Friends will be received at the Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home;Monessen;after 2 p.m.Aug.26. Funeral services will be held Friday;Aug.28;at 11 a.m.from Union Baptist Church;Monessen;with the Rev.Clyde Roston;pastor in charge. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
