Thomas Steer of 1156 Graham Ave., Monessen,died Friday,May 21,1982 at 3 p.m. in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh,following an extended illness. He was 73. Mr. Steer was born July 8,1908,in Fayette City,a son of the late William H.and Angelina Stratford Steer. He was employed at page Steel and Wire Company,Monessen,until his retirement at age 62. Mr. Steer was Protestant by faith. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas A. Steer,in 1957,two brothers,William and Harry steer,and one sister, Mrs. Hester Sowden. Survivors include his widow,Iva McFall Steer of Schoonmaker Ave.,Monessen;two daughters,Mrs. Don (Betty) Zenobi,whith whom he made his home,and Mrs. Gary (Nancy) Layton of Tucson,Ariz.,seven grandchildren;five great-grandchildren;one sister,Mrs. Margaret Hharris of McKees Rocks;and one brother, Clifford Steer of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received in the Rhome Funeral Home,Inc.,1209 Grand Blvd.,Monessen, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.,where services will be held on Monday,May 24,at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Wayne M. Talson,interim pastor of First Baptist Church,Monessen, officiating. Burail will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rhome Funeral Home,Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
