Thomas Shorter;70;of McKinley Ave.;Charleroi R.D.1;died Friday;March 10;1978 at 2:10 a.m. in Mercy Hospital;Pittsburgh. Mr.Shorter was born Feb.28;1908;in Whitsett;Pa.;a son of the late Samueal and Nellie Shorter. He was retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. His wife;Helen Shorter;preceded him in death. Survivors include a son;Thomas Shorter of San Diego;Calif.;one daughter;Betty Shorter Patterson of San Diego;Calif.;three brothers;Andrew Shorter of Portsmouth;Va.;Melvern Shorter of North Charleroi;and Sylvester Shorter of Pricedale;one sister;Mary Jennerson of Rochester;N.Y.;and six grandchildren. Friends will be received in the William R.Taylor Funeral Home;645 McMahon Ave.;Monessen;from 7 to 9 Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Services will be held in the funeral home Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Clarence McGraw officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
