Obituary

Thomas S. Hackenson, 38, of North Belle Vernon, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. Born September 25, 1969, in North Charleroi, he was the son of Thomas and Gloria Wozniak Hackenson. He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon, was a retired fireman and EMT from U.S. Steel, Clairton Works, and a life member of the Washington Township Fire Department. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers and one sister-in-law, David and Tracey Hackenson, and Bruce Hackenson, all of Belle Vernon, two nephews, Trey and Tanner Hackenson, his maternal grandmother, Kathryn Tisot Wozniak, of Washington Township, and his very special cat, Tigger. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Alex Wozniak, and his paternal grandparents, Harry and Ann Hackenson. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon (724-929-6183). Services will be held Friday, March 28, in the funeral home at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Charles P. Esposito, parochial vicar of St. Sebastian R.C. Church, officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Thomas Hackenson on Thursday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
