Thomas Patrick Ward of 841 Brown St.;Belle Vernon;died Monday;Jan.3;1983;at 2 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital;Inc. He was 78. Mr.Ward was born Nov.14;1904;in McKeesport;a son of the late Mr.and Mrs.Joseph Ward. He was a member of St.Sebastian Catholic Church;Knights of Columbus Lodge 3026;and Bishop Phelan General Assembly Fourth Degree;Mon Valley Council. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 53 years;Mr.Ward had formerly lived in Monessen. He retired in 1962 from the strip mill of the U.S.Steel Irwin Works. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Survivors include his widow;Evelyn Molard Ward;one son;Thomas D.Ward of Belle Vernon;three grandchildren;Dr.Thomas D.Ward of Nashville;Tenn.;Linda Lee Roy of Los Angeles;Calif.;and Nancy Jo Ward at home;and one great-grandson;Thomas Patrick. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayer service will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.in the funeral home;followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon.
