Thomas E.MacDonald;82;of 315 Sheppard Ave.;North Charleroi;died Saturday;Nov.29;1997;at 9:30 a.m.in Cherry Tree Nursing Center;Uniontown. Born Oct.20;1915;in Belle Vernon;he was a son of the late Thomas and Bertha MacDonald. He was a member of St.Mary’s Episcopal Church;Charleroi. A resident of North Charleroi since 1965;Mr.MacDonald had previously lived in Brownsville. He retired in 1980 after 30 years as a deckhand with Valley Line Barge Co. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by his first wife;Agnes McLaughlin MacDonald;in November 1963 and his second wife;Elsie Morton MacDonald in June 1997. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law;James and Betty MacDonald of North Charleroi;three daughters and two sons-in-law;Lennie and William Pocky of Belle Vernon;Elizabeth and Patrick Kelly of Belle Vernon and Gloria Tomer of Royers Ford;10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m.with the Rev.Steven J.Kelly;rector of St.Mary’s Episcopal Church of Charleroi;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
