Obituary

Thomas (Brownie) O'Toole,31 Reed avenue,died Tuesday,Aug.31,1954,at 12:30 a.m.at his late home. A resident of Monessen for the past 55 years,the deceased had been employed at the Page Steel and Wire Co.plant for the past 45 years. At the time of his retirement in 1951 he held the position of foreman in the Rod Mill there. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and the Sacred Heart Society of St.Leonard's R.C.Church. Surviving are his wife,Mrs.Kathleen O'Toole,six sons,Martin (Marty) and Donald,both at home,Jack,Fayette City,Thomas Jr.,Gadsden,Ala.,Robert,Bridgeton,N.J.,and Joseph,with the U.S.Navy,six daughters.Mrs.Melvin (Alice) Tressler,and Mrs.Gust (Patty) Ostetrico,both on Monessen,Mrs.Nick (Kathleen) Bednarczyk,Donora,Mrs.August (Josephine) Rigotti,Liverpool,Bridgeton,and Mrs.Joseph (Gertrude) Zoretich,Bentleyville,17 grandchildren,two sisters,Mrs.Gertrude Karlosky,Canton,O.,and Mrs.Elizabeth Picchiarini,Monessen. Friends will be received at the Check Home for Funerals,100 Schoonmaker avenue,after 7 p.m.,Aug.31. Brief funeral services will be held from the funeral home,Friday,Sept.3,at 9:30 a.m.,with additional services to follow at 10 o'clock from St.Leonard's R.C.Church. Rev.Owen J.Kirby will officiate. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Joseph R.Check,funeral director.
