Thomas Joseph Turney;84;of 718 Fayette Ave.;Belle Vernon;died Thursday;Oct.6;1966;at 4 p.m.in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital.   Mr.Turney; a former employee of the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co.;was a member of St.Sebastian’s Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon;and Washington Twp.Fire Dept.  He was also a member and past exalted ruler of B.P.O. Elks No.773 of Monessen.  Surviving are his widow;Bessie (Edwards) Turney; a son;David J.of Belle Vernon;three daughters;Mrs.Jay (Dorothy) Bell of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Herman (Dolores) Blair of Perryopolis and Mrs.Theodore (Bernice) Gaskell of Monongahela;a sister;Mrs.Emma O’Rourke of McKees Rocks;four grandchildren and four  great-grandchildren.  Friends will be received at the Blair Funeral Home;Perryopolis;after 7 p.m.Oct.7.  Requiem High Mass will take place Monday;Oct.10;at 10 a.m.in St.Sebastian’s R.C.Church;Belle Vernon;with the Rev.Martin J.O’Toole;pastor;officiating.  Interment;Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Funeral home visiting hours are 3 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.  Rosary will be recited at the funeral home Oct.9 at 8 p.m.  Blair Funeral home in charge.
