Obituary

Thomas Joseph Lancaster II, 69, of Rostraver Township, went to be with his Savior and Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at 11:50 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born in North Charleroi on March 7, 1935, a son of the late Thomas J. Sr. and Winnifred M. James Lancaster. Tom was a graduate of Rostraver High School, class of 1953. He took classes at Moody Bible Institute and Lancaster Bible College. He previously worked at G.C. Murphy's in Charleroi and Monessen Foodland on Grand Boulevard. He then graduated from Westmoreland County Community College with an associate's degree in welding technology. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Lancaster Varega, in 2002. He is survived by two sisters, Beverly Lancaster Mitchell and Ardyth Lancaster Rowe, both of Rostraver Township, three nieces and three nephews, six great-nieces and three great-nephews, and many cousins. Thomas was a former member of First Baptist Churches in Belle Vernon and Monessen and currently a member of Calvary Bible Church of North Charleroi. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE, a Golden Rule Member Firm, (724-929-5300), 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Saturday, Sept. 4, at 12:30 p.m. with the Rev. Jeffrey Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
