Obituary

Thomas J. Jack Moody Sr., 72, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. Born in Donora on April 5, 1930, he was a son of the late Thomas and Anna Scott Moody. He was a 1949 graduate of Rostraver High School. Mr. Moody served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a carpenter in Carpenters Local 541 and was a member of the Mon Valley Leathernecks, Belle Vernon V.F.W., Belle Vernon American Legion, Charleroi Elks, Monessen Eagles, and the McDonald's Breakfast Club. Mr. Moody was Presbyterian by faith. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Trembush Moody, one son, Douglas Moody of Belle Vernon, two brothers, William Moody and wife Helen of Townsend, Del., and Jimmy Moody of Westmoreland Manor in Greensburg, one sister, Anna Butler and husband Edward of Scottsdale, Ariz., one grandson, Adam Gillespie, one granddaughter, Carrissa Moody, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, T.J. Moody, on March 12, 1983. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Sweeney Plan/Rostraver Township, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, with the Rev. Charles L. Barber, officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery, Rostraver Township.
