Thomas J. Melvin,26,of 828 Speer St.,Belle Vernon,died Wednesday afternoon, May 8,1957,at 12:30 p.m. in the Allegheny General Hospital,Pittsburgh,following a lingering illness. He is survived by his parents,Mr.and Mrs. Thomas C. Melvin;two brothers, Eugene (Casey) and Paul J.,both of Belle Vernon;his paternal grandfather,Thomas H. Melvin,of Charleroi,and his maternal grandfather, Thomas McManus,of Belle Vernon. Friends are being received at the Toner Funeral Home,Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,from 1 to 5 and from 7 to 10 p.m. On Saturday,May 11,the remains will be taken to the St. Sebatian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon,where a Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Henry Hanse officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold R.Toner,funeral director.
