Obituary

Thomas H. (Tucker) Scanlon,52,of 428 Hill St.,Belle Vernon,died Friday, Nov. 29,1968 at 7:55 p.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. He was born in Belle Vernon, May 16,1916. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659.  He was a member of East Belle Vernon Athletic Association. He was employed by Monessen Southwestern Railroad of Pittsburgh Steel Co.  Surviving are his widow,Iona Pascoe Scanlon;a son, Thomas Scanlon of Charleroi;two daughters,Mrs. Matthew (Marjorie) Denitti of Perryopolis and Linda Kay,at home;a brother,Harry Carney Jr. of Belle Vernon;two sisters, Mrs. Vila Duvuvuei of Cleveland,Ohio and Mrs. Julius Perry,of Belle Vernon and six grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon after 7 p.m. Nov. 30. Funeral services will be held Monday,Dec. 2,at 7:30 p.m. from the funeral home with the Rev. Howard Rodebaugh,pastor of the Union Church,Pricedale officiating.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D. Ferguson,funeral director.
