Thomas G.Johnston of 420 Jones St.;Belle Vernon;died Monday;Sept.30;1985;at 9:47 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Twp. He was born in Washington;Pa;a son of the late Michael H.Johnston and Galeen Boyce Johnston;who survives and resides in Greensburg. Mr.Johnston was a retired industrial relations superintendent with the Allenport Works of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. In addition to his father;he was also preceded in death by a sister;Dora Metzner. Mr.Johnston had resided in the Belle Vernon area most of his life and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church;Belle Vernon. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Mon Valley Community Health Center in Monessen;and was a member of the Monongahela Valley Country Club. Surviving;in addition to his mother;are his wife;Marjorie Long Johnston;a daughter;Darlene Kenworthy;of Chantilly;Va.;two sons;Dick T.Johnston;stationed with the U.S.Navy in Hawaii;and Don C.Johnston of Lake Zarich;Ill.;five grandchildren;and three brothers;Melvin and Robert G.Johnston;both of Belle Vernon;and Gale W.Johnston of Monessen. Friends will be received in the L.M.Frye Funeral Home;Inc.;427 W.Main St.Monongahela;Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m.in the funeral home;with the Rev.Charles La Placa;pastor;First Presbyterian Church;Belle Vernon;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery;Belle Vernon. The L.M.Frye Funeral Home;Inc.;is in charge of arrangements.
