Thomas E. Mimidis, 89, of Rostraver Twp., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 21, 2024. A son of the late James and Helen (Harkins) Mimidis, he was born in Rostraver Twp. on September 24, 1934.
A lifelong resident of Rostraver, Tom was a member of the Calvary Bible Church in Charleroi, former member of the Board of Directors, deacon, and superintendent of the former Pricedale Union Church, and former treasurer, board member, and deacon of the Library Baptist Church. He was also a past president of the Rostraver Business Association, member and past president of Rostraver Gathering, and board member of the former South Hills Christian School. In the 1950’s, Tom founded Belle Vernon Door Sales where he was the owner and operator until his retirement in 1999. He was a United States Army National Guard Veteran and an avid Pittsburgh Pirate fan.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Rosemary (Stalmah) Mimidis, a daughter and son in-law, Cynthia and William Snyder of Charleroi; three sons and daughters in-law, Pastor James and Tarella Mimidis of Kouts, IN, Thomas and Erin Mimidis of Charleroi, and John and Denice Mimidis of Monongahela; two sisters, Martha Smith of Columbia, SC and Lucille O’Neil of Beaver, PA; 18 grandchildren, Jesse Snyder, Justin Snyder, Ryan Mimidis, Teann Parsons, Lincoln Mimidis, Savannah Murhammer, Felicia Veith, Tom Mimidis, Nina Epps, Julia Mimidis, Luke Mimidis, Isaac Roberts, Jacob Roberts, Ben Roberts, Hannah Roberts, Noah Mimidis, Nathanael Mimidis, and Aaron Cunningham; 16 great grandchildren, J. Alan, Peyton, Landon, and Kolton Snyder, Luca Mimidis, Levi, Scarlett, and Malachi Parsons, Zach and Madison Veith, Ava, Lanna, and Myla Murhammer, Amelia and Landon Roberts, and Liliana Epps, and many special nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Snyder in 2014.
Friends will be received on Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. 724-929-5300. www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com.
