Obituary

Thomas Eugene Pap Morgan, 69, of Washington Township, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late Homer and Gladys Hancock Morgan, he was born Feb. 17, 1933, in Jacobs Creek. Protestant by faith, he had lived most of his life in Washington Township and Fayette City. Mr. Morgan retired in 1977 from the Coking Department at the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, Carole Wilson Morgan, with whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on March 27, 2003, one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy A. and Ronald W. Clawson of Washington Township, with whom he made his home, one son, Thomas E. Morgan Jr. of Somerset Township, Somerset, four grandchildren, Ronald W. Clawson Jr. of Morgantown, W.Va., Scott M. Clawson of Washington Township, Chalee A. Morgan Apessos of Rostraver Township, and Thomas E. Morgan III of Somerset Township, three sisters, Lorraine Manown of Columbia, S.C., Arlene Lynn of Monessen, and Daryl Moody of Fayette City, two brothers and one sister-in-law, Allen Morgan of Washington Township and Larry and Diane Morgan of Star Junction, and two sisters- and brothers-in-law, Loretto and Ben Sanfilippo of Monongahela and Lucille and Charles W. Harvey of Rostraver Township. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Homer Morgan. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 24, in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., (724-929-5300), a Golden Rule Member Firm, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William Lawson, pastor of Marion Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment was in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
