Thomas E. Rasco Jr.,83,of Monessen, died Sunday, Aug. 10,1997,at home after along illness. He was born March 17,1914,in Fairhope,a son of the late Thomas and Barbara Rasco. He was a member of the Marion Presbyterian Church and had served as a deacon for many years at the First Presbyterian Church in Monessen. He retired in 1977 after 43 years of service at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. Survivors include his wife of 48 years,May Higby Rasco;one son,Thomas Rasco of New Kensington;one daughter and son-in-law,Peggy and Michael Bilski of Monessen;one step-daughter,Kathy Striker of Sutersville;two grandchildren,Michael Rasco and Melissa Bilski;three step-grandchildren,Cindy and Lisa Reichert and Erik Striker and five sisters, Mary Kuharic and Evely Kuta of Illinois,Kate Nicholich of Clairton, Christine Kalatia of California and Betty Hall of Virginia. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph,Walter,Jim and Albert Rassco and one sister, Ella Antalovich. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.,1209 Grand Boulevard, Monessen,where funeral services will be held Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Richard C. Klein officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rhome Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
