Thomas E. Petrus of 1229 Woodhill Drive, Gibsonia,formerly of West 12 Street, Donora,died suddenly in North Hills Pasavant Hospital on Thursday, June 28,1984 at 12:44 a.m. He was 70. Mr. Petrus was born in Donora on July 10,1913,the son of the late George and Marie Petrus. He was a former casewoker for the Donora office of the State Department of Public Welfare and the former owner of the Donora Beverage Company. He served in the United States Army World War II and was a member of St. Charles Church,the Elks Lodge 1265,and the Knights of Columbus council 1941,all of Donora. His wife,Elinor A. Petrus,died in March,1981. Surviving are two sons,Thomas G. Petrus of Squirrel Hill and James A. Petrus of Gibsonia;three daughters,Mrs. John (Celesta) Harhai of Neshanic Station,New Jersey,Mrs. John (Claudia) Moody of Fraziers Bottom,West Virginia and Ms. Carol Petrus of Mount Lebanon,and six grandchildren. Friends are being received on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the James A. Rabe Funeral Home,Thompson Ave.,Donora. Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Saturday,June 29,at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Church in Donora with Rev. Albert Koser,celebrant. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Prayers for the dead will be recited on Friday evening at 8 p.m. Arrangements are by the James A. Rabe Funeral Home,Donora.
