He was born in Vestaburg Nov.15;1917;and lived in Speers most of his life.
He was a veteran of World
War II; serving in the U. S. Air
Force with the rank of master
sergeant.
He was employed in the laboratory
department of Wheeling-
Pittsburgh Steel’s Allenport
Plant.
He was a member of Speers
United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his widow;Elizabeth (Betsy) Hewitt Griffith;four sons;Arthur Artis of New Eagle;Barry;Thomas and Douglas Griffith;all at home;his mother;Mrs.Pearl Griffith of Speers;one brother;Lewis Griffith of Warren;Ohio;four sisters;Mrs.Gertrude Kissler of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Edna Godfrey of Speers;Mrs.Yvonne Hoffman of Belle Vernon and Mrs.Doris Hall of Speers;and two grandchildren. Friends will be received from 7 to 10 p.m.Wednesday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.Thursday at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;where a service will be held Friday;July 21;at 1:30 p.m.with the Rev.Robert C.Guffey of the Speers United Methodist Church officiating.
