Thomas Arrigo, 81, prominent Charleroi building contractor, died unexpectedly at 11:30 Wednesday night,March 8,1961 at his home at 906 Fallowfield Ave. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Mr. Arrigo, whose company paved the first streets in Charleroi at the turn of the century, headed one of the largest contracting firms in the Mon Valley. He had been enjoying good health when his family left home to go bowling Wednesday night. He died a few minutes after the attack. He was the father of Charleroi Street Commissioner Ralph Arrigo. Survivors incude his wife,Mrs.Margherita Lombardi Arrigo;three sons,Frank,Ralph and Joseph;five daughters,Mrs.Bessie Parnella and Josephine Arrigo at home,Mrs.Pat (Louise) Caruso,Mrs.Joseph (Margaret) Kostolansky of Charleroi and Mrs.Joseph (Ann) LaMonica of Rochester,N.Y.;12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Slezak Funeral home,Charleroi after 1 pm. Friday. Services will be held at the Mother of Sorrows Church,Charleroi at 10 a.m.on Monday,March 13. Requiem High Mass will be sung by Rev.John J.Thomas. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Francis C.Slezak,funeral director.
